My anxious heart and empty suitcase.

I love it when I'm asked, "Hey Brooke, so how many days is it today?"

With excitement and anticipation, I ambitiously reply with the days I have left until I will be venturing off to Cambodia for the summer. In case you're wondering, as of today the countdown sits at 6 DAYS.

6 days, whew. If I can be honest for a moment, I can't help but share with you what that number means to me.

6 days means that on May 24th, God will officially begin to wreck my comfort-zone. It means that in 6 days, I will say goodbye to my family as I fly nearly 9,000 miles away from them. However most of all, the number 6 means that in less than a week, I will then begin to embark on the most exciting and life changing journey I have yet to experience. I'm a little excited, if you couldn't already tell.

I once read a quote that continues to resonate with me:

"If it doesn't challenge you, it doesn't change you."

Oh how I'm sure I'm not the only one who finds ambition and motivation to change the world when they hear those words.

So now it's my turn to ask you a question:

When a challenge presents itself in front of you, what is your first response?

To tackle it with courage, or run and seek shelter? (Personally, the taking shelter sounds more appealing most of time.)  However, I truly believe that the character of God never anticipates us to become comfortable. For is it not what we experience outside of our comfort-zone that truly begins to teach us who we are, and what we were created to be?

My question for you today is:

What is God challenging you with?  But most of all, are you willing to tackle it?

I am choosing to tackle multiple fears by heading to Cambodia in 6 days. However, I am also choosing to follow the Will of God in doing so. If you ask me, something beautiful happens when a fear meets your greatest dream.

So my advice for you today:

Be a doer. Be a dreamer.

Above all else, be courageous.
